Halaman: p. 160-175 Honorific rules of the Banyumas Javanese dialect present the use of address terms and references which are meant to honor the interlocutor or the person being referred. The Banyumas society applies honorifics based on the situation and custom. Some rules being regarded to be the guides of using honorifics are the rule for addressing a person with on title the rule for non-title bearers whic applies common honorifics the rule for addressing the bearers of noble title and the rule for addressing or referring someone who bears awarded title. Those rules have been used as the criteria for choosing the linguistic units and the construction of honorifics within the interaction and are applicable in the context of communication.
