The present article discusses the meanings of [-nya] in the language of amale child at age 3 years 5 months. The data in the form of the child s spontaneous utterances were collected through a 17-day participatory observation. It is found that the subject wascapable of utilizing 7 different meanings of -nya . Suggestions for further research with more pragmatic approach are forwarded.
