On the cognitive status of fictionality in literature
The interest in the study of literature is generally motivated by its relation to the study of pedagogy the study of literary text forms a substantial part of the curriculum in both first and second language educations. The conception of literature is assumed to influence the way it should be taught. Continuing exploration of the nature of literature is thus crucial in the applied as well as the theoritical sphere. Based on the assumption above this paper suggests that the processing of a text to be labeled Literary text involves not only the social and physical activity but also mind/brain and mind/body dualism. The idea is especially promissing if human experience is seen as of three models derived from peirce s trichotomy of sign (peirce s 1985) namely as icon stressing on the preciseness
