This study aims at finding out a writer s developing cognitive processes in EFL writing. The data are analyzed based on the classic theory of Odell (1977). It was found that the writer develops better in using 1) grammatical subjects 2) connectors and superlative forms 3) lexicons showing similarity resemblance and class 4) physical words and 5) sequence. He is less developed or stagnant in using comparisons and negatives syntaxes lexicons showing difference change paradox contrast and examples.
