This research aims to depict the profile of an Acehnese A. Hasjmy as a man of letters of modem Indonesian literature. This documentary research is aimed to analyze and describe 1) A. Hasjmy as an author 2) the genre theme and master- pieces of A. Hasjmy and 3) the art media used by A. Hasjmy. The results show that A. Hasjmy was by all means very creative man of letters and has produced master- pieces. A. Hasjmy is known for his novels short stories and poems. A. Hasjmy used various media in epressing his creative power. The media include books mass media and bulletins. His publication has reached national and international reader- ship. He has also produced numerous unpublished poems which he usually read on certain occasions.
