If the students want to learn successfully in a collage they much read 850.000 woords in a week. In this relations there are two problems whether. (1) they have ability to read in such reading volume and (2) a reading activity becomes their cultural behavior. In this reserch the reseacher uses the approach of survey with simple statistical analysis namely percentage. The students as the samples of this research are taken form both state and private colleges in Banjarmasin and Banjarbiru. As far as it is known a reading activity has not been a part of their culture even their reading habit is very bad. In general they read in disorder way. However they have large reading interests.
