This research purposes are to get of factual drawing about (1) the background and existence historis of the engraving apprentice system (2) the area of material transmitted inthe engraving apprentice system (3)the process of education (4) the ways of education (5) the patterns of education inthe engraving apprentice system. The research uses kualitatif approach which towards analytical description. The data resources are consist of (1) informant (2) place/event (3) dokument/arcchives.The techniniques of data colectingare consist of (1) participant observation and (2) in-depth interview. The sampling technique uses purposive and snow ball model meanwhile the data validity worked through (1) triangulation (2) recheck (3) peer debrieving. The analysis technique uses interactive model. The stages of analysis are (1) reducting data (2)presenting data and (3) verification. The resultof research improve that the pattern of education inthe engravingapprentice system in sukodano village are democratic and authorization patern which is the existence background of the engraving apprentice system is based on social and economy factor. Meanwhile the material transmitted consist of (1) the knowledge of media in the engraving activity (2) the competency of engraving skill (dominant) (3) morality etic value and independent attitude. The characteristic of education is informal. The place of learning process is in working place (apprentice) where the ways of education acted by educator through giving of examples demonstration and direct practice continously and repairing of students s assigment. Meanwhile the ways of learning acted by student are absord imitate training consultation and repairation.
