Evaluasi Penggunaan Sediaan Racikan pada Pasien Anak RS X Yogyakarta



A study of the Evaluation of the Re-compounding Combination- Medicine Prescribed to the Pediatric Patients in X Hospital Jogjakarta has been done prospectively in July 2007. The aim of this study is to evaluate background usage dosage and drug interaction of the medicine. From the study we know that the pediatricians in X Hospital used the re-compounding prescription because the dose and the practical administration of the medicines suitable for pediatrics were unavailable in the market. The re-compounding combination medicine was prescribed to 78% and 52% out-patients and in-patients respectively with 2-6 ingredients in a combination for in-patients and 2-5 ingredients for out-patients the most frequently used combination was acetaminophen plus phenobarbiturate (164 cases) and ketotifen plus cyproheptadine (151 cases). Each patient received 1 to 4 of the re-compounding medicines. Inappropriate dose and potential drug interaction were found in the study.
