Pengaruh Jenis Diol dan Pemanjang Rantai Terhadap Viskositas Intrinsik Poli (Uretan - Urea)
Some Poly (urethane-urea) variations have been syntesized from three type of diols 9(10)-methoxy-1 10(9)-octadecanediol (Diol-3) with 4 4-methylene bis (phenylisocyanate)(MDI) and chain extender of ethylene diamina (EDA) and phenylene diamina (PDA). Synthesis has been conducted using two phases of method (prepolymer method). The structural identification of poly(urethane-ureas) were carried out using FTIR while intrinsic viscosity were measured using ostwald wiscometer with tetrahydrofuran (THF) solvent at room temperature. The results of study show that physically poly(urethane-urea) constitue rather sticky solid. Structurally poly(urethane-urea) had been identified from FTIR spectrum with exeptional peaks at 1720 cm-1 (s sh) 1540 cm-1 (s sh) 1230 cm-1 (s sh) dan 1310 cm-1 (s sh).The longer the side cluster of side diol chain or diol molecule which was getting bulkier causing intrinsic viscosity declines. This is an indication of poly(urethane-urea) polimer chain resulted in somewhat shorter. Viewed from chain extender the diferance of ethylene diamine chain extender and phenylene diamine do not give any influence towards poly(urethane-urea) intrinsic viscosity because both of chain extender molecules have similar room structure.
