Thirty samples of milk powder sold in Indonesia were analysed using disc assay with spores of Bacillus stearothermophylus var. calidolactis yoghurt test with Streptococcus thermopilus brilliant black reduction tets (BRT) Beta Star and enzime linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The ELISA was used only for detecting penicillin chloramphenicol and tetracycline. The possitive result of antibiotic residues in the samples were detected by disc assay (2 samples) yoghurt test (1 samples) and ELISA (2 samples for penicillin 1 samples for chloramphenicol and 4 samples for tetracyclin). Nevertheless no possitive results were detected by BRT and BETA star .All of possitive samples analysed by disc assy and yoghurt test also showetd possitive results in the ELISA. It should be born in mind that the antibiotic residues in milk powder could be a problem from the veterinary public health s point of view.
