The survey aimed to get perceptions of Senior High School Chemistry teachers in East Java concerning the preparation of students to meet the 21 century. The survey also aimed to get the base line study for training teachers and research design in the second year. The population consists of teachers from 291 high school in Each Java. The sample were purposively selected. The data were collected using inventory questionaire and essay type froms then analyzed using the SPSS program. The result of the survey is the perception of Senior High School chemistry teacher in East Java concerning the preparation of students to meet the 21 century was good ( 75
