This paper is intendet to address the issues related to teacher research referring more specificially to the Indonesian context. The paper begins with a brief overview of what teacher research is and how it relates to teacher professional development. Following this some challanges of implementing teacher research particularly in the Indonesian context will be addressed. Finally the paper calls for a revisit of the curriculum of teacher education the instution responsible for preparing teachers.
