 <note>In connection with our ongoing effort to develop chemical demonstrations using consumer chemicals for public audiences  and particularly for primary- and secondary-school audiences  the Researches have developed a series of reactions that demonstrate combustion in oxygen gas. The researches prepare the oxygen gas as needed in the bottles used to demonstrate the combustion reactions  using only consumer-available chemicals purchased at a supermarket and found at home. The use of consumer products permits stimulating reactions to be carried out in distance-learning situations.  The researches wanted to develop a safe method to produce oxygen gas for demonstration and outreach programs from readily available consumer chemicals at room temperature.               </note>
