The analysis of seawater has been rich field for chemical education. Articles have been published in Journal of Chemical Education related to analysis of seawater. This seawater-analysis project is designed to introduce students to working in groups they must collaborate with their colleagues to complete the lab work. This experiment includes qualitative analysis for cations and anions as well as their quantitave analysis by a variety of gravimetric volumetric and instrumental methods.
