 <note>The objectives of this paper is to discribe the development of profesional teacher. In terms of competency  teacher should have four competencies  they are  1) pedagogical competency  2) personality competency  3) professional competency  and 4) social competency. Further there five indicators which indicates a teacher as professional teacher  such as 1) she/he can cooperate with student individuality  2) she/he can develop teaching planning and preparation  3) she/he always use teaching aids in the teaching and learning process  and 5) she/he always involve students various teaching and learning experiences. However  teacher professionalism development faces some challenges  such as  change of regulation that tend to be oriented to political interest. Therefore  policy change need to be teken especially in education system and teacher recruirment to produce professional teacher and competitive human resource.</note>
