 <note>Many maps treat of politics is readily apparent. Most purchaser or users see the development of map making as a science based on changes in mathematics  perspective  and surveying. This impressive trejectorry continues  eith the availability of satellite surveying  computer processing in sophisticated colour printing and other development. Complex and extensive data sets can be rapidly mapped.  This paper addresses how to attract political attention to geoscience issues. As well as to inform that MPs  member of Parliament  the DPD RI  has initiated imvaluable contribution to the country in endorsing a DPD bill on geospatial information to DPR which has passed toi be a law on geospatial information on April 2011. It is important to show the main use of maps in governing the country  in particular for Indonesia  as an archipelagic country. Maps are actually important tools used in the decission making process. It also important for the diplomacy and mainly in exploring the economic resources for the wealth of the people in a substainble way. Indonesia faces challenges on implementing the new Law Number 4 Year of 2011  thereof the institutional capacity building is recognizly as a strategic initial steps for the officers.</note>
