Pemanfaatan Tumbuhan Obat Secara Tradisional untuk Memperlancar Persalinan oleh Suku Dayak Meratus di Kalimantan Selatan



South Kalimantan is the province in Indonesia that has rich of flora and fauna diversity like medicinal plant. Ethonobotanical research on the use of various plants for medicinal purpose was undertaken in Meratus South Kalimantan. Several medicinal plants have been trusted and used for their use by the Dayak tribe. The objective of the research was to give information of species and their potential to be medicine. Sampling method was done directly through interview to the common people key informants and traditional therapist. The result showed that the tribe have been recognized and used various medicinal plants to smooth givingbirth naturally. The plants were discribed as Argyreia nervosa (Burm.f.) Bojer (bilaran hirang) Mussaenda frondosa L (balik angin) Aglaonema simplex (Blume) Blume (pelungsur sawa) and Aglaonema nebulosung N.E.Br (pelungsur sawa). Unfortunatelly the tribe use medicinal plants more rarely today.
